Frequently asked questions

Destination intelligence, answered.

What destination intelligence is, how AI visibility is measured, how supplier data gets collected, and who stays in control of it.

Destination intelligence

What is destination intelligence?
Destination intelligence is structured, AI-readable tourism data that lets AI travel planning systems discover, understand, and recommend the businesses and experiences inside a destination. It combines a knowledge graph of verified supplier data, distribution of that data to AI systems through MCP servers and APIs, and measurement of how AI actually answers questions about the destination.
How is destination intelligence different from destination marketing?
Destination marketing produces content for people to be inspired by; destination intelligence produces data for machines to answer from. A campaign page persuades a traveller who already found you, while a structured supplier record decides whether an AI assistant mentions you at all when a traveller asks it where to eat, stay, or go. The two are complementary: marketing still shapes the brand, intelligence decides whether the brand is reachable in an AI-led planning journey.
Why are tourism businesses invisible to AI?
Around 62% of travellers have already used AI to plan or book travel, and most begin planning without a single destination decided. Hidden restaurants, local guides, cultural experiences, and independent suppliers usually have no structured data an AI system can read: no machine-readable opening hours, accessibility information, or menu detail. So they don't appear when travellers ask AI where to go, eat, or stay. The information often exists; it is just locked in PDFs, images, and prose.
What does AI visibility mean for a destination?
AI visibility is how often, how accurately, and how favourably AI assistants mention your destination and its suppliers when travellers ask them planning questions. GOAGENTIC measures it by running a fixed set of traveller questions against the major AI assistants every week and scoring the answers, so a destination can see week over week whether it is being recommended, mis-described, or left out entirely.

Working with GOAGENTIC

How does GOAGENTIC help DMOs and tourism authorities?
GOAGENTIC helps governments, tourism authorities, and DMOs build and maintain their destination database through AI agents that discover suppliers and reach out to them over WhatsApp, email, and phone, in the supplier's own language. The answers are structured and validated against a shared supplier taxonomy of up to 221 data fields, then distributed to AI systems and tracked for impact.
How do you assess how AI-ready a destination is today?
We run an AI-readiness audit of the destination's existing web presence, measuring the six things that decide whether an assistant can use a site: whether AI crawlers are served the site at all, what robots.txt allows them to read, whether the content survives without JavaScript, how deep the schema.org markup goes, whether pages answer questions directly, and whether the site is findable by Bing, the crawler behind most ChatGPT citations. The result is a scored one-page report showing where the gaps are and what closing each one is worth.
Do suppliers have to fill in forms or log into a portal?
No. Suppliers are contacted on the channels they already use, WhatsApp, email or a phone call, and answer in natural conversation, on their own schedule. There is no portal to log into and no form to complete, which is what makes coverage of small and independent suppliers realistic rather than aspirational.
Who controls the data, and how is it governed?
The destination does. Your team approves changes, sets governance rules, and configures review tiers, with a full audit trail, data provenance on every field, and role-based access. Collection itself is bounded by explicit guards: a cap on messages per interaction, a re-contact cooldown per supplier, opt-out handling that stops contact immediately, and pause switches at both supplier and destination level.
What does it cost to work with GOAGENTIC?
Engagements are structured in three tiers: capturing an ecosystem, distributing it to AI systems, and building national tourism data infrastructure. Each is sized by the number of suppliers and the depth of the taxonomy, and is quoted per engagement; national or ministry-level programmes are scoped individually through a strategic briefing.
Which kinds of organisations does GOAGENTIC work with?
GOAGENTIC works with national tourism authorities, ministries of tourism, regional tourism boards, and city-level DMOs. Engagements run from a single city ecosystem through to country-wide tourism data infrastructure, and start with an AI-readiness audit of the destination as it stands today.
